How Teeth Whitening Works

Our tooth whitening gel contains oxidizing agents that penetrate the porous element of the tooth enamel and break down stains. The whitening agent is activated by use of an LED laser light.

Most people see a significant lightening after one treatment. However, the number of shades lifted varies according to the individual. Additional treatments allow the oxidizing agent to penetrate beneath the enamel removing deeply embedded stains that have built up over time and achieve optimum whiteness.

The combination of your personal diet and the porosity of your teeth will determine how long the whiteness will last.  

A teeth whitening appointment takes between 15 & 60 minutes, depending on the number of treatments, plus approximately 15 minutes for an initial consultation and aftercare advice.

Safety Side Effects

Our peroxide-free teeth whitening procedure has been thoroughly tested and proven to be safe while still giving excellent results. Hydrogen peroxide is a very aggressive chemical and peroxide based teeth whiteners can be extremely harmful to both gums and teeth. It creates sensitivity and can damage enamel and burn soft tissues. Enamel damage is long term and irreparable. As our product is peroxide-free, our treatment is safe and has none of these side effects. 

The UK legal limit for hydrogen peroxide in tooth whitening products in the UK is set at 0.1% and must be less than 3% if the procedure is not carried out by a  Dental Nurse. 

Unfortunately, Trading Standards Officers have found some products with levels as high as 10% - that's over 100 times the permitted level!

If you are looking to have a teeth whiten process, either by using a tooth whitener or by having a laser treatment done, please do check what strength is being used before you let the treatment start to avoid any potential side effects.
